R. Karen Freeman has a passion for banking advancement and innovation. She is a speaker with the BankersWeb speaker series speaking regularly on evolving trends, self-service banking, marketing and emerging payment solutions. She along with two other BankersWeb speakers administer the Electronic Banking Certification Series, now in its third year.
Freeman regularly contributes to The Bank Teller/CSR Report distributed monthly through Lexis Nexis. This publication is structured to assist front line branch banking staff. Karen’s topics focus on customer service, sales, innovation and other financial related topics.
Karen is a client experience officer for First Citizens National Bank headquartered in Dyersburg, Tennessee. She is part of skilled team of bankers charged with deploying innovative initiatives in an emerging market for the Bank. The level of combined innovation planned, including employee structuring, technology placement, and self-service banking, has previously not been attempted within the specified Tennessee market. Her responsibilities include team leadership, market profitability, business development and sales as well as fostering the brand and culture of the bank both internally and externally within the market.
Prior to joining First Citizens National Bank, Karen served as a financial services officer for a statewide financial institution, a vice president of marketing for a community bank, and a marketing representative for a statewide commercial bank. Freeman holds a B.A. in Communication from the University of Tennessee at Martin. She, her husband, and two children reside in Bells, Tennessee.
