Equity experts Precious Green Gunter and Brandon Washington will reveal how to honor all staff and customer perspectives in ways that acknowledge minority individuals’ experiences with anecdotal and structural racism. You will learn from discussions of real-world scenarios led by the facilitators.
What You'll Learn
- Which laws prohibit discrimination? What do they require?
- How should you begin addressing the real-world issues affecting stakeholders?
- How can you ensure inclusion in service availability and lending decisions?
- What racial conversations should take place in your institution?
Training Overview
Combat racism at your institution. Stop discrimination from hurting people.
The FDIC just released the agency’s latest strategic plan to incorporate and promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in every aspect of its mission and operations. From overt actions to unintentional assumptions, racism plagues financial institution staff members and accountholders daily. It degrades their confidence, steals opportunities for future success, and perpetuates stereotypes.
You have unique abilities to combat systemic racism, honor all perspectives, and support stakeholders. You can do far more than merely avoid violating Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964. You have the power to enable minority staff, clients, and members to be seen, heard, respected, and celebrated by your bank or credit union and ultimately by the greater world around them.
